Villa Kubu

Villa Kubu has the best of both worlds, combining a private sanctuary situated in lush garden settings with instant access to high-octane, party-central Seminyak whose boho chic restaurants, boutiques and galleries are Bali’s answer to Notting Hill and Soho. The area is a magnet for tanned and trendy jet setters from around the world who are looking for luxury, relaxation and access to the action. Villa Kubu is 25 minutes from the airport, convenient to all of Bali’s main tourist attractions and just minutes from the fabulous Legian Beach with its white sand and 365 days of spectacular sunsets.

The owner has lovingly built each of today’s 15 individual villas, one by one, over a 12-year period. Don’t expect cookie cutter plunge pools and mass produced Balinese furnishings and fittings. Each villa here has its own personality as unique as the Australian owner, and all come with their own enchanted gardens and swimming pools.

With its infamous Three Flag Service system, Villa Kubu has a long-established reputation for privacy – one of today’s greatest luxuries. A yellow flag at your villa’s front entrance signifies to the staff that you are in residence; green means ‘Please service immediately, champagne and nibbles are required’, while red means ‘Do not disturb’. The system is followed with the utmost respect by the staff whose friendly smiling service is so synonymous with Bali.

VILLAS

Villa Kubu is a collection of 15 very private one-, two- and three-bedroom villas each immaculately and individually styled. The ultimate romantic retreat, the cosy one-bedroom villas are set within a private garden featuring a pool – the perfect setting for lazy days and magical nights. The two-bedroom villas cater for up to four guests with a pair of suite bedrooms each with heavenly king-size beds, luxurious feather pillows and mosquito nets. The outdoor bathrooms are totally refreshing giving a unique experience of the pleasures of tropical living. For larger groups of up to six adults or families try the palatial three-bedroom villas. For those seeking greater privacy or even larger accommodation there are limited side-by-side villas which connect through lockable garden doors to form two to four-bedroom options.

Each villa, hidden behind enchanting walls in exquisite tropical gardens, comes with swimming pool and picture-perfect thatch-roofed balés (gazebos) for outdoor dining, relaxed lounging and reading – the perfect spot also for a massage for two. Many of the villas feature outdoor dining tables and chairs for simply enjoying meals under the sun and stars and each has a fully-equipped kitchen (stocked prior to your arrival with snacks and refreshments), some of which open onto the dining rooms to make meal time a social occasion for everyone. Breakfasts are cooked to order at your villa by one of Kubu’s impeccably trained butlers. Other facilities include an entertainment centre with iPods loaded with a diverse selection of music, TV’s and DVD players.
